I want to put a little money into a few low volume stocks as a highly speculative long-term investment. I believe these companies have a good chance to make a reasonable long-term profit, and I also support their mission (related to renewables and energy storage).
On most days, they don't see any transaction and the stock price stays flat. Is there some way to know why there are no trades, such as lack of sellers, lack of buyers, no price agreement between sellers and buyers?
I'd like to make sure my order has a good chance to be filled, before I place it and pay the broker fee.
Can I see unfilled offers somewhere? Can I see something like “people want to sell this for X price”?
On top of that, is there something else I should be aware of? It's my first time straying from “mainstream” stocks where you could get away with a simple market or limit order.
