Are there ways to get jobs related to the market without entering investment banking?

I am graduating this semester as a finance major and have a strong interest in the market. I continually read books surrounding the topic, keep up with current events and enjoy discussing different names with friends in my free time. I have a job lined up, however it isn’t in the financial markets.

I know my career isn’t pigeonholed to my first job out of school, however I also know that I don’t want to enter investment banking. The stories I’ve heard from peers entering the space have turned me off from the idea. Are there opportunities to get a job in the market without pursuing IB? I have no issue spending free time outside of my job working on projects and doing research, I am just generally unaware of other entry paths or career opportunities.

Thank you for any advice!
