Fundamental analysis / Overwhelmed!

I am confused and overwhelmed with information overload. Can someone give me an eli5 of what it is and also what are the most important things to look for when conducting a fundamental analysis of a company?

I see some websites say look for these 5 things but then I see on Reddit some people have check lists 50 questions long.
