In 2020, I invested in stocks for the first time (Amazon, Disney, Microsoft, Apple). At the time I was a student, and didn't think I'd be able to buy a house for another 10 years. Now, I was fortunate to get a very high paying job, and I'm in a position to buy a house sooner (target 2024/25).
So mid-2022, my initial thoughts were to sell off my stocks and put them in savings. I made a profit of close to $1.5K by selling my Microsoft and Apple stocks, but I didn't sell my Amazon/Disney stocks because it would have been at a very big loss. For context, I bought the Amazon/Disney stocks for $18K in 2020, and they're now valued at $9K.
I'm debating whether I should just hold my Amazon/Disney stocks for the next 10+ years and not even consider that part of my savings for a house, or if I should sell at a loss and prioritize it into my savings?
Are Amazon and Disney expected to recover within a decade? What would be the best idea for someone in my situation?
