Long story short, 2022 has been a net negative year for me, more paper losses (way more) than profits. I have some positions that I purchased at the beginning of the year that are down anywhere from 20-40%. Many of these positions are close to qualifying for long term capital gains, but I'm wondering if I should sell them anyway to capture the losses to use towards future profits. I can rotate into similar stocks/ETFs and don't think I'd mind waiting an additional year for the new positions to mature.
Anyone else in a similar boat? Would appreciate any feedback as the clock is winding down quick (6 more trading days left)
