I want to preface this question by stating that I’m fairly new to trading. So dark pools allow people to trade securities privately without public access, right? Does this mean that if a hedge fund was shorting a stock and wanted to close their position then they could sell the stock to themselves at any price through dark pools? Sorry if I’m just clueless but I can’t find a clear answer online.
