“When the bombs are flying, you’d better be buying”


This is an old stock trader cold war quote.

The trades clear in New York, and NY would be the first place to be hit, so whatever was just bought won't actually clear and become yours if New York is nuked. If NY is still around to clear the trades, then there will be a relief rally.

I read this in a book called “Hedgehogging” published in 2006 by the late Barton Biggs who passed almost ten years ago now on July 14, 2012.
