Need experts to share their thoughts
Trying to understand why everyone thinks there may or may not be a fed pivot forthcomming when the fed consensus is already a slowed rate hike of 50 basis point in December.
Reading news articles and posts here, everyone is debating whether fed will pivot or not, but what I'm thinking is they are already talking about no more 0.75 hikes anymore, isn't this the evidence we all needed ? I mean why are all the experts talking about what will fed do next, what else is there they can do that is unexpected ? (Ofcourse this assumes they won't do 0.75 hike in december)
ANy future pivot would start with first slowing the rate hikes, and they've already hinted at so. Since fed consensus is of 0.5 % hike in december. Isn'st this a 100% proof of first stage of fed pivot, which is by slowing the pace of rates from 0.75 to 0.5 ? why isn't this the single most dependable fact that the fed has already made its move to slowing the pace now, and it will be followed by potentially a pause in 2023 ?I mean why is there even a debate anymore on fed pivot ?
