Can someone explain to me why do companies have to grow? Why does their revenue have to increase? If I owned a laundromat that was making $10,000 a month, I would be happy to invest in it and collect the profits, even if the laundromat never made more than $10,000 a month. When it comes to the stock market, even mature companies like Coca-Cola, are expected to continually grow their revenues and profits YoY or their stock price will suffer. Why is it insufficient for a company to just generate cash flow?
