60% Down on META, What To Do… What To Do….

First and foremost, this shit is kinda funny ngl.

I invested 12k when Meta dipped to 237$ thinking I had the deal of a lifetime and that this was a market over-reaction. To be fair, I still believe this is a crazy market over-reaction for META to be at its current price of 98$.

Anyhow, I am quite unsure what to do or what to think. The overall market is down and tech has been doing rather bad lately so perhaps I shouldn't panic or look at this as a meta exclusive issue (even though META admittedly is performing less well). What would you guys do in this situation?

I am thinking that selling right now is incredibly dumb, but I admittedly haven't experienced a market and or loss situation like this. It makes me feel like a WSB ape, haha.

Surely Mark can't be THAT inept, right? My initial thought process was that VR technology is important and no other company is investing quite the amount that META is into this venture. Sure some people say “I wouldn't want to live in a virtual world” but I don't think that is the point.

My perspective is that it would be used for limited time durations to do things that are arguably invaluable (training pilots/professionals, enabling work from home to be more normalized perhaps, and even recreation which in theory should be a better version of VR chat or higher resolution VR gaming).

Aside from whether the metaverse succeeds or not, FB/Insta is heavily profitable and TikTok isn't going to replace them because they aren't even the same type of media and if Zuck finds a way to monetize WhatsApp, makes amends with Apple or partners with Google, I could see a lot of upside here.

What are your thoughts regarding all of this? I don't see how selling here would be wise even when factoring in opportunity cost of that money being invested in other avenues, due to the fact I'd have to make 60% profit just to break even at this point.
