How should I invest my cash now that I’ve gained alittle bit of an understanding?

I current have 1000 invested in independent stocks and have realized this is more on the risky side of investing. I want to pull out and take my 130 dollar loss. I have an Acorns account and am not impressed with its incentive, and will maybe pull out and take a 240 dollar lose. I want to take now 3000 dollars and throw it all in an ETF VOO for a more secure and reliable investment.

With 3000 dollars what do some of you veterans recommend me now to do knowing ETFs are more reliable and independent stocks are riskier.

I use Robinhood do you have any recommendations on other applications that I should use instead?
