Icahn Enterprises L.P has an 11% dividend but over the past year has lost 5.8% and has a 3 year annualized loss of 8.7%. However over the past 5 years it has gained an annual 14.1%.
How can a company with such terrible performance over the past 3 years be able to sustain a high dividend? I noticed that it has a high debt to equity ratio, which I worry may be how it's fueling its acquisitions and dividend.
