CD Projekt Red announced a new CP2077 DLC for the next year, a collaboration with Epic (UE5), new Witcher games and a new CP game.
Additionally CP2077 currently has a „second spring“ with a shit ton of active players due to the new Edgerunners Anime.
I think the anime additionally proved that those guys are marketing and brand building geniuses.
They couldn’t really build a brand around TW3 due to the fact that they didn’t create that universe but CP is entirely theirs and they definitely made something out of it, especially with the anime.
For the anime they already collaborated with Netflix and as I mentioned CDPR was really successful at building a brand- something Netflix isn’t quite capable off- so one might speculate that Netflix could get interested in CDPR.
They also want to bring their upcoming games out way faster than before (f.e. the entire new Witcher trilogy within a 6 year period) and therefore opened a new studio in NA.
Sure the news are already priced in. This month the stock climbed up 37.37% but YTD we are still down 44.10%. So imo the entry point for that type of stock still seems attractive.
One should also consider that historically speaking in the gaming community CDPR has always been a studio with quite a good reputation.
That reputation definitely got some scratches after the release of CP2077 but as I mentioned before (referring to the high player numbers of CP they currently have due to the Anime) they somewhat restored it. People still have faith in them and that’s why I speculate that they will give their best and probably succeed not to fuck the DLC of CP2077- that will (hopefully) be released next year- up.
If they should manage that I definitely see a new hype wave coming which will affect (or effect, shit I don’t know, not my mother tongue) the stock price short term positively.
The upcoming games should also make that stock for long term investors really considerable as there will most certainly be a hype around them.
If they should manage to bring everything off smoothly they should have a great position for growth and a bright future- similar to TTWO- ahead.
