KRBN – Does the carbon credit market offer a potential for profit?

First let me say I'm appaled buy the lack of information you can find on KRBN KraneShares Global Carbon ETF. It's almost as it is “obscure”.

Yes, the carbon credit market is the domain of government regulations and thus standard market principles do not apply to a full extent, but it's past performance is outstanding.

Since its inception it rose 95% and that was in July of 2021.

Yes, past performance is not a guarantee of future gains, but do you guys think it has an upside potential?

When researching ETFs I like to see what other stock market research websites tend to say on it but when it comes to KRBN I just can't seem to find adequate commentary for it.

Bank of America said “Carbon offset market may need to grow fiftyfold to meet 2050 net-zero emissions goals.”

Aren't governments suppose to inact evermore green legislation? Doesn't that make a case for KRBN positive?

It is definitely a very specific and different ETF to all others, thus making it riskier I guess, but just can't stop wondering if I should give it “a shot”.

Could it make a good addition to the portfolio?
