I'm investing quarterly in stocks. My horizon is retirement but I may make down payment on apartment in 2-3 years if stocks are high and apartments come down. If not I can continue renting.
At the start of this year I had some expenses so I held off investing and I'm only now starting to invest for current year I also have emergency cash reserves for around 6 months of expenses.
So I'm now 70/30 stocks/cash. I would prefer to hold with investing in stocks at the moment but I also don't like keeping cash in Euros as they are loosing to USD and CHF.
My portfolio is fine, I'm outperforming SP500 and because of low Euro all my stocks are above purchase price. Not selling anything since only get progressive tax advantage after holding for 5-15 years
So what should I do with the cash?
Invest in low beta dividend stocks (CVX, XOM, BRK)?
Exchange Euros into USD or CHF?
Buy gold?
