First Solar (FSLR) and the whole Solar module manufacturing industry

Those of you who are holding US solar panel manufacturer stocks, what is your rationale? Chinese companies have been winning in this industry (LONGi, Tongwei, etc.) for a while while the largest US manufacturer FSLR has seen a decline in revenue since 2012 and the recent quarters have been worse.
Also the margins and competition across the globe are quite low with Gross Margins being lower than 25% (18% on avg). So is there any bull case for these companies?

(I specifically mentioned FSLR because the stock jumped when it invested $ 1.2 bn in its Ohio plant)
Note: Not trying to discourage anyone investing in these companies. Just wanted to know your bull/bear opinions.
