Those of you who are holding US solar panel manufacturer stocks, what is your rationale? Chinese companies have been winning in this industry (LONGi, Tongwei, etc.) for a while while the largest US manufacturer FSLR has seen a decline in revenue since 2012 and the recent quarters have been worse.
Also the margins and competition across the globe are quite low with Gross Margins being lower than 25% (18% on avg). So is there any bull case for these companies?
(I specifically mentioned FSLR because the stock jumped when it invested $ 1.2 bn in its Ohio plant)
Note: Not trying to discourage anyone investing in these companies. Just wanted to know your bull/bear opinions.
