So for the year I sold a lot of my losers from early on and have racked up over $10,000 in realized losses for the year. A family member who advises me tells me I can now sell some of my gains/profits so I don't have to necessarily pay gain taxes on it, and is encouraging me to sell $10,000 profit in gains.
The problem is that is most of my account lol. If I sell all of my AMZN, Apple, GOOGL I'd be making about 10K in profit, but would have basically no stocks in my portfolio that are green anymore.
What would people advise I do? It sucks because I don't want to have no portfolio anymore, and it feels like I'd be starting over from scratch after a couple years of doing this.
