Im a low rank and file at a public company. We get options each year and i have some options that have vested. I have not exercised these vested options because they are underwater.
If my employer was to do a stock buyback would my options be eligible for the buyback? Would I have to exercise these options before the buyback is announced?
I’m not sure how a buyback works or even if one will happen.
I’m asking because as it stands my options aren’t worth anything and I don’t see them being above water anytime soon if at all. I want to try not to miss out on any opportunities.
