Ørsted: a brief introduction

(formerly DONG Energy) is a Danish power company based in Denmark. It is the largest energy company in Denmark. As of 2020, the company is the world's largest developer of offshore wind power, accounting for 29% of global installed capacity and producing 88% of their energy from renewable sources. The company has a goal of net zero generation by the year 2025 and no carbon emissions by 2040. Since 2019, the company has been ranked the world's most sustainable energy company in the Corporate Knights Global 100 Index.

According to its own statement, Ørsted's goal is to supply reliable clean energy. To this end, the company formulated its “Strategy 85/15” in 2009. According to Ørsted, 85% of its own electricity and heat production in 2009 still came from fossil fuels. The share of renewable energy was 15%. By 2040, Ørsted wanted to reverse this ratio and obtain 85% of its own electricity and heat production from renewables and 15% from natural gas. This strategy has since been overhauled. According to its own information, Ørsted will produce climate-neutral energy as early as 2025 and will completely dispense with fossil fuels.

The Danish Government holds the majority of Ørsted shares (50.1%)

The Hornsea Wind Farm phase one was completed in January 2021, with a capacity of 1,218 MW, making it the largest in the world on its completion.

I think this company has huge growth potential, what do you think?
