Iv been on this sub since 2018. Reddit is an almost exact reflection of current market sentiment, filled with emotion and error. The hive mind is HORRRIBLE for good decision making, especially in a sub like this where people's money/emotion is on the line. Good content gets censored by downvotes if it doesnt follow the status quo.
Most redditors have no idea how to consider evaluative metrics… ie people on here use a high PE ratio to justify not investing in a high growth stock.. they just regurgitate info they have heard from other redditors and seeking alpha.
Reddit focuses on a handful of retail stocks that historically underperform the market. For example, there are ZERO reddit posts about companies like SPGI (S&P Global Inc.), a relatively safe choice with an average 25% return.. and rather reddit focuses on shit.
If your new, do your own DD. Make you own choices. And before you have a solid choice, stick to index funds. Dont think redditors are smarter than you and blindly take their advise.
