In the past months I've been contacted via reddit by the same pattern of person
Hong Kong pretty girl.
With an awesome lifestyle.
Balls deep in investing.
With an uncle with privileged info
They write english perfectly. Some even speak it. They ask for your number to talk by whatsapp
The “credible” part of the story is that they take their time. They send you pics of food, suposed selfies, pics of another cities where they are “doing business”…
Sooner or later they will talk to you about financial freedom, sharing a life together, how they want you to be rich… blah blah blah
They will “recommend” you a stock listed on HK or a crypto
I am not going to enter into details because it would be soooo long to explain
But I was interested to see for how long they can pull these things off. Some of them can talk to you for months
At the end, they end up frustrated, they disappear, block you if you “don't trust her”, or not answering anymore
They even create fake liknkedin accounts. IG accounts. They seem to have an entire database of pictures, just in case you ask for. And they are not newbies. They may be have been posting for months in subreddits related with food, cats, interior design, jewelry…
And they take their time. They read about if you're a Lakers fan. If you have a dog. If you like dividends… by looking at your previous messages
I wasn't going to do this thread, but an “online friend” from this sub felt in this shit
I was contacted by 3 of them in the past few months. It was fun for me but I get how some can fall for this.
TLDR: If you're talking with some asian pretty girl that you met here, or in Tinder or similar and she is “an investor” it's a trap. It's a scam
