Anyone else find the “bad news is good news” depressing from a societal standpoint?

For the past 3ish or so years the “Pain on Main Street equals gain on Wall Street” has me generally bummed out. I understand why the market rallies and anticipates more easy money from the Fed, but it's gotten to the point where I find it so disingenuous and disgusting. It's not just about the numbers of stocks prices and interest rates. I know real people struggling to buy groceries, put their children through college, make car payments, etc.

And if the market does go up in contrast to the general quality of life, how many people will be able to take advantage of this rise? We're lucky that most of us can invest, but most people I know don't invest in the stock market outside of their retirement.

I'm not hoping for a bear market, but it seems like something needs to change.
