I've been investing in stocks for decades and crypto for well, almost a decade, and casually watch particular ones that are interesting to me. I understand how large macroeconomic events can effect the market, sometimes quickly.
What is confusing to me is large intraday movements that span wide ranges of stocks in different industries and even crypto ALL at the same time. Even stocks for companies that have significant positive financials and have just announced something significantly positive about their sales or whatever, when a huge drop starts they go down too, everyone going down, at the same hour, even same minute. Likewise, stocks and crypto moving up within the same minutes on absolutely no news. It's weird to me. How can THAT much money be moving, that many trades across such a broad range be happening simultaneously?
Edit: Also, this behavior, these trends or patterns, activities, this is relatively new to me. I've never noticed such movements in the past, such seemingly strong correlations.
