Should I consider building a dividend portfolio with little capital?

Hi guys,

So I'm in a good position to finally start building a long term porfolio and doing this correctly. I'm able to currently add at least £250-£300 a week to my ISA account. Would it be recommended to consider slowly adding dividend stocks to my portfolio, with the consideration of earning from the dividends, rather than solely individual stocks/ETF's for their expected future performance? I have never been that interested in dividends before, so looking for advice. I'm not sure if I'd make enough for it to be worth it.

I'm also, perhaps wrongly, under the impression that many of the bigger dividend names are often relatively stable in price, meaning you're less likely to make a big gain on the stock price alone over, say 1 year. Of course stability in these times is good to allocate a portion of the porfolio there, but that's not the mindset I'm asking about. Thanks.
