I like the posts about battered high-growth stocks and reliable stocks to hold with high inflation. But, I would like to get more attention with this post on stocks that are trying to transform to a new business model or due a turnaround. A few ideas I'm aware of:
- Warner Bros Discovery: Invest in WBD if you believe that they will successfully transition from a legacy TV to a streaming TV player and they'll realize all of the revenue & cost synergies of combining Warner Bros & Discovery together
- any auto manufacturer not named Tesla: Tesla has a 10 year headstart on electric vehicles so find a company that you believe can spend their capex efficiently & effectively on CapEx technology and then can harvest those prior CapEx investments someday to be a profitable EV player. Ford, General Motores, and there are a couple more.
- Netflix: Invest in Netflix if you believe their transition from subscription video on demand to a hybrid option that includes cheaper advertising video on demand will help them lose fewer subscribers and continue growing revenue
- Meta: Invest in Meta if you think their metaverse bet will work out
- Peloton: Invest in Peloton if you think a new CEO and the restructuring moves will work out for a stock that has struggled ever since the economy reopened
- Intel Invest in Intel if you believe they'll address their technological debt with their chips & can benefit from geopolitical outcomes on foundry competitors
Disclosure: I don't own any of these stocks and not interested in purchasing any of them at the moment except Warner Bros Discovery
