There are a lot of first-time investors out there who might need some perspective right now. All too often we get first timers who come in right at the top of a bull run and then get washed out of the markets forever, if not a long time, only to miss out on the upside.
Every time the market turns, the extremists come out of the woodwork talking about the next Great Depression. I'm fully confident that inflation will abate, and rates will stabilize. But for many–even veterans–it can be scary.
I want to hear some stories from longtime investors who learned hard lessons early on but forged ahead. What happened? What did you learn from it? Are you glad you went through it? How does this bear market compare to then?
