Gas is at $5/gallon. Inflation is crazy. Markets are tumbling. Yet I when stop by Academy, the parking lot is full and the line curves and goes to the back wall. The store is packed with middle class Americans loading up on Yeti coolers and Columbia clothes. Same story at Target and Best Buy.
I’m sure consumer spending will slow down, but I’m sure not seeing it in my actual city. Maybe it’s just Father’s Day weekend, but it makes me think there’s going to be more pain before inflation is curbed.
