I survived the Dot Com bubble and 08 financial crisis

These are tough times. Both times we were told this was the next depression. Don’t buy the dip it’s going lower. It eventually settles down. I contribute to my TFSA (401K for Canadians) at the beginning of the year and chill. Every time there’s a 10 percent correction I throw in extra money. 20 percent, more! Why? I only invest in index funds and I’m a firm believer they will always trend higher long term. No one knows if we bottom this week or have a 80 percent Great Depression crash. If you’re planning on retiring this year or next year this advice doesn’t apply to you. These are where legends are made. Just picture you’re buying groceries and they keep getting cheaper. Stack up. You’re not going to catch the bottom. We’re in a bear market, this is a blessing for long term investors. I invested for the first time less than 3 months before dot com bubble burst. Just enjoy the ride
