I was gifted stocks by the company I work for – can I access it?

I was gifted LESL stock and I have no idea how any of this works. Do I have to wait for them to vest in a year to pull them out? Is there a way around that? Someone explain it to me like I’m a child please because online is a lot of information I cannot parse through.
