I have a Fidelity IRA that I rolled over some money into years ago but am no longer actively contributing to; however I have mostly used it to play around with stocks.
A few years ago I bought 40-ish shares of OXY (currently have 45 shares). In July 2020 they issued warrant stock (OXYWS) at 1/8 share per share of OXY held, so I have 5 shares of it. As I read, the warrant shares entitle me to purchase more shares (I assume 5 more?) of OXY for $22 a share (it's currently around $64).
Well, over the last few months my energy stocks have performed amazingly well, and these warrant shares are currently posting a 757% return.
I suppose my question is, what should I do with these? Sell them? Or exercise them to buy 5 more shares of OXY? I don't know how to exercise them with Fidelity, I presume I would have to call a broker, but I'm just wondering what the best move is. I'm pretty amateur when it comes to the stock market and I don't know anything about these.
