Is there financial gain to be made by top investors spreading fear in the market?

Don't get me wrong, I think there are signs that the current market 'may' go lower (worries with inflation/recession, ongoing Ukraine War, possible food shortages etc). I'm a new investor who at the moment, is putting some money aside and DCA at the current low prices we are seeing. IMO, we can guess where the market might be headed, but we'll never truly know until it happens.

Every day, I see these top investors (Ackerman, Burry etc, just names I've found recently, but there are many others who are spreading fear a lot more) appearing on news channels/social meda saying to be wary of inflation and the markets, recession is coming, I'm warning you of xy and z, etc.

My question is, is there a gain they can make by constantly spouting this? I get that they are only making predictions and it could all be correct (or it might be wrong, no one knows how the market will play out), but is there an actual motive to constantly spread fear like this?

Is the idea for these top investors to make retail investor sell out on purpose? Like, what do they gain by constantly telling us to be fearful / recession is coming etc?
