I made my own list of ETFs to breakdown and follow. What do you all think of it?

Hello fellow traders! So I'm getting ready to take a “break” from pattern day trading to do some other work and hone in on my own strategies – also news, technicals, and more. I'm starting with broad sector ETFs that represent large cap markets. Here's my list so far.

The list is:

  • DIA

  • GLD

  • QQQ

  • SPY

  • TLT

  • VIX

  • VOO

  • XLE

I can't quite remember what all of these are for and what sectors they represent, but that's the point. I want to research and learn more about these. I've put this list together over time based on articles I've read and am preparing to do a deep dive.

The goal is to have a good comprehensive list of big sectors, so that way when I pick a big underlying name like AMZN (Amazon), I can pull up the corresponding ETF (QQQ) to help determine potential moves.

So far I only know a fair bit about QQQ and SPY, because I follow names like AMZN, TSLA, AAPL, GOOGL….

Would love to know what you all think, and if I can build on this list, remove unnecessary names sectors, etc.

Thanks in advance!
