Can someone explain what exactly McDonald’s is doing with their Russian outlets?

So McDonald’s announced they will be leaving Russia. I’ve read that they will be putting this down as a “non cash charge.”

What exactly does this mean? I haven’t really understood what they would be doing with these outlets and was hoping one of you could explain that a little bit further.
