What do you do in a recession?

I’ve never been in one as an adult. I’m not here to argue if we are in a recession already, or if we are on that path or that it won’t happen at all.

I’m just curious what you do regarding investments, mortgages and spending when in a recession.

Just note that I live in Sweden and not USA. But I feel like it’s almost the same. One big difference is that my mortgage rate changes monthly (it’s not fixed) unlike in the US with 30-year fixed rates.
