Adding Money to Vanguard

Hey all — I’m trying to add money to my Vanguard account. I have my bank connected, so my questions are:

1. When I go to transfer funds, does anyone know how long this will take?
2. It looks like funds are deposited into a money market fund. Is this correct? From said money market fund, I can buy stocks?
