I would like to get into the stock market, and was wondering what you guys think is the best, and the worst trading platforms to use for Canadians.
I hope to just buy and hold for a year, or more. I don’t want to pay a lot of fees, so avoiding that would be nice.
I’ve tried out paper stocks and a simulator that reflects the real market, and my idea is to hold even if the stock crashes, like, just cling to the loss even if it’s 90% down. And sell if it goes up by just a bit. Is that a terrible strategy? What do you guys recommend?
Another helpful bit of information I need to learn yet is, are there rules that block someone under the age of 18 from starting an account on a trading platform?
