Wanted to start off saying i know this is reddit so i will take all advice with a grain of salt but wanted some second opinions.
I have been slowly investing since I began working in late 2020. It started off great and now obviously it isn't looking so good and is starting to have me worried. I was pretty conservative, the majority of my portfolio is in SWPPX and SWTSX. I sprinkled in KTCAX, as well as SDEM, SDIV, and KBWY, but that is it. I put $400 of my paycheck in per month with 70% going to SWPPX, 20% to SWTSX, and the other ten percent to the rest.
My question is do I stick it out and keep doing what I am doing? Do I take a pause and hope I don't lose everything I started with? What are the chances I could lose everything?
I stayed conservative because I have student loan debt and don't plan on touching any of this money until retirement but I would be devastated to lose it all. I know I am young and naïve and everything has to bounce back eventually (right?) but after looking at how the stock market has been over the past 5 years I feel like I should be kicking myself for getting in at the wrong time and that it could potentially take years to recover from this. I am only down about $1k but there were points that I was up over $1k so it just sucks to see. I understand that is nothing compared to what some people have lost but please just genuine advice only. TIA.
