21 Male who has £1k a month spare income for investment. New to the scene and lack knowledge

Hi guys, I am a newly qualified physiotherapist with around £1k a month for long term investment. I was currently thinking about investing into the S&P500 (VUSA) but as I understand in todays climate this may not be wise. There is a lot of information around and I find some information contradictory. I would appreciate any advice on if this is a relatively safe investment for long term saving (10+years)
