Was sick of poor returns in 2022 and was hoping we would see better days in 2023. Pleasantly surprised that Jan '23 stocks did quite well but now Feb '23 is again doom and gloom.
Did a quick search on how the outlook is and a govt CBO report shows up saying 2023 will be a poor year for stock gains.
Apparently 2024 is when stocks will be back on track for gains.

CBO expects economic growth to stagnate and inflation to slow in >2023 in response to the sharp rise in interest rates during 2022. >After that, in CBO's projections, output grows at a more robust >pace as inflation continues to decline toward the Federal Reserve's >long-run goal of 2 percent.
