Hi. I've never bought or sold stocks in my life and my neighbor who is an old geezer just told me I should buy stocks if I want to have a prosperous future.
My dad lost all his money thanks to Enron and is living in a trailer house behind a cement plant. I don't want to end up like that.
So I've decided today that I'm going to invest most of my savings into a stock.
If you could pick just one stock, which would it be?
I was thinking Walmart or maybe McDonald's as they seem to be safe everywhere. People like my broke dad can only go to those places and I think even during a hard depression, people like him will continue buying groceries there.
Any tips, advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
